SAT/ACT Testing

Most Pflugerville High School students will take their first SAT in March of their Junior year. This test is given during the school day and is free to our families. However, many students decide to re-test.

The College and Career Team encourages all students to take one SAT and one ACT, and re-take the exam the student felt most comfortable with.

The links below will help you understand each test a bit better. It will also help you learn more about the Test-Optional movement the country is currently seeing.

Texas Success Initiative (TSI)

In order to prove that a student is college ready, the Texas State Legislature formed the Texas Success Initiative.

The initiative requires that all students meet a certain benchmark on the SAT, ACT, or Accuplacer exam to qualify for college level coursework.

Every Pflugerville High School student will have the opportunity to sit for an SAT and the Accuplacer exam at least once for free.

The link below will allow you to learn more about the exam and what qualifying scores on each will help showcase college readiness.

Final Enrollment Process

Once you have been admitted to your chosen institution (college or university), there are steps you will need to take to enroll in that college. Although these steps may vary from institution to institution, you will find the most common requirements on the link below. Please keep in mind that it is always important to check with your specific institution on these steps.
